Akira Project – Live Action Trailer
**VIDEO OF THE WEEK** The product of a crowd-funded film project, this live action fan adaptation of AKIRA is pretty damn stunning. According to Youtube it’s taken the Montreal-based creators two years, and 40 artists in 12 different countries, to bring this trailer to life and it really shows. This is a great example of how much better fans understand properties like this versus Hollywood. Sure, it’s just a trailer but I’d rather see this than some schlock like Dragonball: Evolution.
SUPER SMASH WARS 3: Return of the Hero (Part 2/2)
James Farr’s EPIC series of Star Wars/Nintendo universe mash-ups concludes with Return of the Hero (2/2) which finds young Link Skywaker and his companions finishing what they started in the Tropical Wilds of PNF-404. Before long, Link discovers that the Princess is his long-lost sister before facing off against Ganondarth and, finally, Emperor Mew-Jora himself (itself?). It’s ending to one of the longest and biggest “mash-ups” I’ve ever seen.

Let’s face it, Mondays are tough. So why not distract yourself with a hearty bowl of animated psychedelia featuring weird office humor (I mean, really weird office humor) and animation by Joey Souza. Abrupt ending aside, just gotta love just how freaking odd this animation is. I’d imagine the pitch for it would be The Doors meets The Office… get it? Doors. Office. It works on multiple levels! …*sigh* back to work.
